Introduction

The Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation was established on August 1, 2009. The Center is responsible for coordinating all university activities that involve international entities and for assisting all academic programs that involve international partners. Routine tasks include interacting with partner institutions, preparing official documents for international cooperation, promoting faculty and student exchanges, facilitating research collaboration, hosting international guests, etc. At present, the Center consists of two sections: Center for International Cooperation and Center for Cross-Strait Cooperation.

The Center for International Cooperation is responsible for promoting and facilitating international cooperations, faculty exchange programs, and academic collaborations around the world. The Center for Cross-Strait Cooperation serves as a platform connecting Lunghwa University with international students; its responsibilities cover student orientation and counseling, student exchange programs, and summer programs abroad, etc.

The Center is also in charge of several international projects commissioned by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Republic of China.

Chinese Language Center

The Chinese Language Center of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology was formally established in December 2011 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Republic of China. The Chinese Language Center has a very strong and experienced faculty with expertise in teaching Chinese as a second or foreign language with the support of excellent hardware and software to facilitate teaching and learning.

The teaching and learning facilities of this center include a professional language lab, two multi-functional Chinese learning classrooms, and a Chinese learning area located at the sixth floor of the library with a rich collection of Chinese learning material to provide students with multiple learning spaces.

The Center has a variety of Chinese courses to meet the needs of foreign students. In addition to regular language courses, this Center has been promoting all sorts of cultural activities and outdoors teaching which would greatly help students adapt the life in Taiwan fast and blend in the linguistic environment virtually and happily.
