Department Introduction

The Department of Tourism and Leisure was established in 2012 to cooperate with the development of the two principal tourism policies of the government - cultivating outstanding international tourism talents and providing services with international standards. The department aims to increase courses on educational practice, strengthen functional training and foreign language ability, and support students’ multi-learning ability. Moreover, the department aims to help students become professionals in tour guiding and interpretation with a global vision of service innovation and industrial talents in applying digital tourism and leisure technology.

Development Features

  1. Establishing three teaching features related to digital tourism, tour guide training, leisure activity planning, and focusing on planning two types of elective courses: “catering and hotel module” and “Leisure Travel Module."
  2. Cultivating industrial talents representing three types of job categories: travel industry managers, hotel industry managers, and leisure service industry managers.
  3. Training relevant talents with the essential technologies of catering, hotels, leisure, tourism, and other industries; through appropriate practical exercises and professional course planning, cultivating key critical technologies, mastering core competencies, and cultivating more practical talents for industrial needs.

Professional Facilities

  1. Digital tourism: digital tourism computer classroom, airline ticketing systems, digital recording studios, audio-visual editing software, motion capture laboratory, and digital cameras.
  2. Catering services: hospitality services and beverage training classroom, travel information service center, catering information systems, hotel information systems, and wine-tasting classroom.
  3. Tourism planning: internship travel agency, tour guide and interpretation classroom, tour planning classroom, local industry classroom, large conference hall, outdoor stepped square.
  4. Leisure activities: Leisure activity planning classroom, senior leisure activity classroom, ecological trails, etiquette and deportment classroom, physical fitness classroom, gymnasium, and leisure corners
