Lunghwa University of Science and Technology established the Division of International Business in 1989 and this Division was upgraded to be the Department of International Business in 2001. In response to the national digital development strategy and the needs of industrial transformation, in the academic year 2023 the Department sets the goal to take the role of “International Business 3.0” and has renamed the Department to be “Digital Marketing & Cross-Border Commerce.” The Department aims to provide students with professional skills that can well adapt to the future and cultivate X-shaped talents in digital marketing and international business operations with local care, global vision, and great teamwork skills. In the digital age, students will be trained to develop the professional abilities required for multiple marketing activities and the management and operation capabilities of international business systematic thinking.
The Department features “Digital Marketing” and “Cross-Border Business” and is committed to expanding industrial links. The main aim of Department is to continue to handle courses and programs related to International Business and Digital Marketing in according to the employment program subsidized by the Ministry of Labor and to promote the cooperation with the Taiwan E-Business Association (TEA) which has more than 100 manufacturer members. Moreover, the Department focuses on collaborating with industry teachers to open courses on international business platforms such as Alibaba, Amazon, and Taiwantrade B2B platform. Furthermore, the featured classroom “International Market Development Professional Classroom” aims to cultivate students to become talents with efficient operation and management capabilities towards cross-border business platforms as well as to strengthen students’ competitiveness and employability in order to meet the needs of the industry, which helpfully allow students to smoothly get employed after graduation.
In order to implement the professional features of digital marketing and cross-border business, the Department has established the “International Business Professional Classroom” and the “Digital Marketing Integration Classroom” which combines professional software including Global Trading System, SPSS statistical analysis software, the process-oriented enterprise resource planning (ERP) system of the Data Systems Consulting Co., Ltd., Microsoft project management software, PowerDirector, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Photoimpact, etc. to deepen students’ practical skills.
