Lunghwa University of Science and Technology gains countrywide honor of becoming TOP 20 merit schools in schooling operations

Cheers magazine launched an investigation of mutual assessment of presidents of universities for the first time this year. “Challenge of School Management”, the presentation of the investigation and award ceremony of the TOP 20 merit schools in schooling operations by mutual assessment between presidents, was held on the 12th of February. The performance in the schooling operations of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology has been recognized and accepted by 114 university and college presidents. The school gains the honor of being one of internal TOP 20 merit schools in schooling operation, and is also the only elected private university of science and technology from the north of Taichung.

Cheers magazine discusses issues such as work, career, and life appeal to office workers. Cheers magazine has paid attention to competitive capability of Taiwanese for a long time, and cares about the development of higher education in Taiwan. It therefore publishes special issues such as the “University Guide” and “Graduate School Guide” every year. The annual special issue “University Guide” of this year (2015) not only preserves previous features, but invites 114 presidents of internal universities and colleges to elect meritorious schools in schooling operations in their eyes. The result of the investigation can faithfully reflect variations in higher education in Taiwan in recent years.

Dr. Tzu-Hsiang Ko, the president of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, is gratified to win the honor of TOP 20 merit school in schooling operations, and feels pleased that the pragmatic attitude toward schooling operations of Lunghwa University over a long time has shown impressive results and has been recognized. Each college of the school has been awarded the first grade in the universities of science and technology evaluation and the school has also gained allowances from programs for promoting teaching excellence universities from the Ministry of Education for 11 successive years. It is the private university of science and technology in the north of Taichung that has obtained the largest allowance; moreover, the school gained an allowance from the Paradigm Project for 3 successive years, which is the only elected private university of science and technology in the north of Taichung to have done so. Besides, the school is devoted to the training of practical techniques to their students, and continuously promotes cooperative education. The school has an agreement for an “order-based placement curriculum” with 104 enterprises, and has launched 57 relevant curriculums, which was participated in by more than 1500 students. The school aims to strengthen students’ business internship effectiveness via an off-campus internship and counselor system, and solves the problems of employment and recruitment for both students and enterprises, which is deeply appreciated by enterprises.
