A team of 5 professors from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, including Professors Jeou-Long Lee, Tsung-Hsin Lin, and Hsin-Liang Chen from the Department of Semiconductor Engineering, Professor Ta-Lun Sung from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Kwan-Lin Kuo from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, participated in the 2024 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition. Their exhibition of six works received remarkable recognition, including two Special Awards from Romania and Macau, one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals, totaling eight accolades, showing their outstanding research and development capabilities.

The 2024 Bangkok International Invention Exposition took place from February 2nd to 6th. Organized by the National Research Council of Thailand, the exposition aimed to stimulate inventive activities, serving as a national-level platform for cooperation and exchange among Thai and international inventors to showcase their achievements. This year, the exhibition featured participants from 25 countries presenting 608 patented inventions, with over 3000 inventors in attendance. It stood as a multinational hub for top talents and high-end innovations, fostering international exchange and creating commercial opportunities for inventors worldwide.

The Lunghwa University team showcased six works at the exposition. Among them, the team led by Professor Ta-Lun Sung from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Professor Kwan-Lin Kuo from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages received significant attention for their work titled “A Method for Manufacturing High Aspect Ratio Hole,” earning both the Gold Medal and the Special Award from Romania.

The work titled “Preparation Methods of Copper Alloy Coatings for Semiconductor Manufacturing” by the team led by Professors Tsung-Hsin Lin and Jeou-Long Lee from the Department of Semiconductor Engineering received the Silver Medal and the Special Award from Macau.

Additionally, the team comprising Professors Tsung-Hsin Lin, Hsin-Liang Chen, and Ta-Lun Sung from the Departments of Semiconductor Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, respectively, along with Professor Kwan-Lin Kuo and their students, presented inventions such as “Fabrication of Micro-Arc Oxidation Ceramic Film on Stainless Steel Surface,” “Improving the Surface Properties of Titanium Alloys Using Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation Method,” “Method for Preparing Superhydrophobic Film Material with Silicon Dioxide,” and “Improved Methods of Printed Circuit Board Pre-Treatment,” all of which received Bronze Medals.

The Lunghwa team achieved outstanding success at the exposition, winning one gold, one silver, four bronze medals, and two international special awards, totaling eight medals. During the exhibition, two students from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, who will enroll in the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Lunghwa University in the upcoming semester, visited the booth, gaining profound insights into the practical technologies and research capabilities of Lunghwa University.

President Tzu-Hsiang Ko stated that the team’s excellent performance at the international invention exposition acknowledges the research and development capabilities of Lunghwa’s faculty and serves as a testament to the institution’s abundant research and innovation strengths. These award-winning inventions signify academic breakthroughs and contribute to the advancement of related industries. They hope to strengthen the link between academia and industry, collectively promoting technological development and innovation, nurturing talents relevant to the industry, and enhancing Taiwan’s international competitiveness.
