On February 26th, the latest results of the Top 30 rankings of the “2024 Favorite College Students for Enterprises” were announced by Global Views Monthly. Lunghwa once again claimed the glory of being the top private university of science and technology. Earlier this year, it was also honored to be ranked first among private technological universities in the “2024 Favorite College Students Survey” by the magazine Cheers, marking its fifth consecutive year as the leader among private technological universities nationwide. Additionally, Lunghwa was selected in the Top 20 of the 2024 University Performance Growth Survey by Cheers for the seventh time, ranking second only to National Cheng Kung University and maintaining its position as the second-best university in the country, showcasing its outstanding academic prowess.

As the integration of learning and application has become a crucial measure of the educational quality of universities across various sectors of society, with increasing emphasis on enterprise feedback, survey results from publications like Global Views Monthly and Cheers have become significant reference points for prospective college students when choosing schools. High-quality universities of science and technology receive recognition and attention from industries, attracting many high school graduates to apply based on their academic performance in standardized tests, allowing them to anticipate industry trends and cultivate their competitiveness in the job market.

President Ko emphasized that Lunghwa University of Science and Technology is committed to cultivating practical, high-quality talents for industries and providing innovative technological services as an applied university of science and technology. The university effectively utilizes funding from higher education development projects, overall development incentives, and its resources to continuously invest in optimizing faculty and equipment and improving campus environments. Talent cultivation focuses on establishing diverse, smart, practical platforms, enhancing interdisciplinary technological integration, and developing distinctive features closely linked with industry-academia collaboration.

In recent years, in line with the government’s promotion of the 5+2 innovative industries plan, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology has established three Ministry of Education-subsidized practical bases, including the Production-line-like Factory for 3D Digital Circuit Board Design and Smart Manufacturing, the Industrial-environment-like Factory for (5G) Mobile Communication Module Testing and Calibration, and the Center for Cultivating Talents and Skills in Designing and Testing Electronic Assemblies for High-Speed Transmission, with a total subsidy exceeding US$10 million. These facilities and various characteristic laboratories for semiconductor component processing and packaging testing utilize practical bases and venues to integrate practical technology and research capabilities established at the bases, providing integrated design and manufacturing services for manufacturers and cultivating high-quality talents for industries. This allows students to focus on industry demands and strive to become the best in Taiwan and the best in Asia in the electronics industry.

President Ko emphasized that Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, founded over half a century ago, will strive for excellence continuously and adhere to practical applications, deeply cultivating applied sciences and services such as smart manufacturing, AI, IoT, cloud computing, big data, and XR (AR/VR/MR). It aims to strengthen students’ interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, cultivate them into the most sought-after talents for the future society, and achieve the goal of “helping students find their future and connecting jobs with talents.”
