The student entrepreneurial team “GaiaBit Focus on Pets” from the Department of Information Network Engineering at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology journeyed to mainland China on December 9, 2023, to participate in the Third Guangxi-Taiwan College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Their exceptional performance earned them the highest score from the judges in the final competition, securing first prize for their outstanding achievement.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of College Students in Guangxi and Taiwan, inaugurated in 2021, is the premier joint platform for innovation and entrepreneurship. Its mission is to deepen the integration of industry and academia, foster bilateral exchanges in digital economy talent cultivation between Guangxi and Taiwan, and propel the coordinated development of talent, industry, and innovation chains in both regions. This year, the competition attracted many entrepreneurial teams and projects from Guangxi and Taiwan, with 51 teams progressing to the semi-finals and 26 to the final round.

In the final competition, participating teams were tasked with leveraging live-streaming technology to craft innovative sales experiences, engaging the audience during the live broadcast to enhance the appeal of their products. This unique format not only drew a large number of participants but also honed teams' abilities to discern market trends and apply technical prowess.
The performance of the GaiaBit team during the live broadcast was particularly remarkable. Through lively dances, enthusiastic interactions, and captivating visual designs, they successfully captured the attention of a broad audience, effectively showcasing their product. Drawing from techniques observed in live-streaming sales, the GaiaBit team exhibited remarkable creativity and skill, distinguishing themselves from the other finalists.

Reflecting on their experience, the GaiaBit team expressed profound appreciation for the opportunity to immerse themselves in mainland China’s cultural and business environment. This exposure provided valuable insights into different cultures and business landscapes, sparking innovative ideas such as incorporating pet elements into live streaming and applying energy-saving and carbon-reducing concepts to the pet industry. The competition journey catalyzed the team's entrepreneurial endeavors, equipping them with invaluable knowledge about launching and selling products in diverse market landscapes and underscoring the significance of cultural diversity in fostering innovative thinking.
