Objectives
To meet the needs of the economic construction for the country, the trend of the times, and the industrial development of the future, the department, apart from strengthening the education of basic chemical courses, focuses on the research and application of professional technologies such as optoelectronic materials, plasma technology, energy and green materials, nano material preparation and testing, environmental technology, and disaster prevention education, etc. The department also lays emphasis on practical courses, pays attention to students’ English ability and international views, assists students to obtain professional certificates, and trains as well as cultivates them to be well prepared for the industry.
The department boasts of novel and complete facilities for teaching and research. In addition to elementary teaching laboratories, there are plenty of research laboratories that feature material and environmental technology, including “Plasma Application Technology Laboratory”, “Precision Instrument Analysis Center”, “Nano Material Technology Laboratory”, “Particle Technology Laboratory”, “Semiconductor and Optoelectronics Laboratory”, “Environmental Technology Laboratory”, “Industrial Safety Laboratory”, and “Material Processing Laboratory”, etc.
Apart from the common instruments (such as AA, TOC, FTIR, IC, GC, HPLC, and Zeta-potential, etc.), the department owns many valuable instruments which individually cost more than a million NT dollars, such as XRD, DSC (TGA), FESEM and WEDS, TEM, RF and MW plasma systems. It is believed that under the instructions from the well-qualified faculty and through the process of systematic learning, the students can be handy in all walks of life and well prepared for their own future.
Features
The features of this department are mainly divided into two areas:
Material technology: including nano particles and materials, MOCVD, liquid crystal material, micro electroforming, plasma application technology (coating, surface modification, waste treatment), etc.
Green environmental technology: including membrane separation, wastewater treatment, water analysis, waste treatment and precious metal recycling, disaster prevention education, etc.
Objectives (Master's Program)
To meet the needs of the economic construction for the country, the trend of the times, and the industrial development of the future, the master’s program of this department focuses on the research and application of professional technology such as optoelectronic materials, plasma technology, energy and green materials, nano material preparation and testing, green environmental technology, and energy-saving technology, etc. The department boasts of novel and complete facilities for graduate teaching and research. In addition to elementary teaching laboratories, there are plenty of research laboratories that feature material and environmental technology, including “Plasma Application Technology Laboratory”, “Precision Instrument Analysis Center”, “Nano Material Technology Laboratory”, “Materials Machining Laboratory”, “Semiconductor and Optoelectronics Laboratory”, “Environmental Technology Laboratory”, “Industrial Safety Laboratory”, and “Material Processing Laboratory”, etc. Apart from the common instruments (such as AA, TOC, FTIR, ICP, GC, GC-Mass, HPLC, and Zeta-potential, etc.), the department owns many valuable instruments which individually cost more than a million NT dollars, such as XRD, DSC (TGA), FESEM and WEDS, TEM, RF, MW plasma systems, atomic force microscopes (AFM), thermal dilatometers, vacuum sputtering machines, and particle size analyzers. Under the instructions of our excellent teachers, graduate students can learn systematically and efficiently. It is important for students to have specialized skills in order to be comfortable in the workplace. Lunghua graduates understand ethics and have communication skills in the group. The education of undergraduates aims to equip them to with the ability to work in the field of chemical and materials engineering, whereas the graduate education is to make students have the ability to analyze and solve problems and become competent researchers.
Features (Master's Program)
The development characteristics of this department mainly focus on green chemical processing and material application technology:
Material technology: including optoelectronic materials technology and nano materials technology, such as nano particles and materials, MOCVD, metal and ceramic materials processing, dispersion and emulsification, plasma application technology (such as coating, surface modification, waste treatment), etc.
Green technology: including processing technique and energy technique, such as membrane separation, recovery and reuse of carbon dioxide, wastewater treatment, water analysis, waste treatment and precious metal recycling, low-carbon energy, energy materials, disaster prevention education, etc.
